Don’t trample the dreams stored deep in my heart

Before they’ve emerged and had their kick start.

    Don’t shower me with words to completely destroy

    The chance that my longings may bring me some joy.

Tread carefully before you stampede on my hopes,

My ambitions are anchored to frangible ropes.

    Tread carefully and give me the chance I require.

     Without torching my goals in the flames of your fire.

Don’t axe my ambitions with words that destroy;

Don’t fling your cruel words that cut deep and annoy.

    Tread carefully, but kindly, as you walk through my day -

    My hopes and my dreams are too precious to slay!
